Abrasive Blast Rooms

Highlights

• Enclosure: Made from formed and welded, modular bolt together 10 Gauge steel panels.
• Hoppers: Fully welded 10 Gauge steel hoppers with structural steel supports for optional integral 4', 8 1/2" guage track.
• Screws: 9" diameter ribbon flighting mounted on 5" pipe. Main screws are driven by individual shaft mounted gear motors, eliminating chains and sprockets. The cross screw is direct driven by a separate gear motor.
• Main Door: Double doors fabricated from 10 Gauge steel with integral fresh air inlets, labyrinth seals, floor pin door latch and limit switch interlock.
• Bucket Elevator: Centrifugal discharge type with cast iron buckets bolted to multi-ply conveyor belting. The casing is fabricated from 10 Gauge sheet steel.
• Separator: Gravity type air-wash with adjustable skimmer plate, swing baffle and air flow control. This unit incorporates an integral storage hopper. (Rotary screen optional)
• Floor Grating: Removable welded steel grating panels made from 1 1/2" bars rated for a safe uniform load of 600 lbs/sq.,ft.
• Pressure Blaster: 6.5 cubic ft. capacity blast tank with 1 1/4" piping blast hose, venturi nozzle, dead man remote control and O.S.H.A. approved operator's hood and breathing equipment.
• Lighting: Flush mounted external fluorescent lights with dust tight protective lexan lenses, providing a minimum of 85 ft. candles of illumination.
• Ventilation: High efficiency down draft cartridge pulse jet dust collectors provide end to end ventilation at a minimum of 50 f.p.m. As an option the collector can be attached.

Grit Reclaim Systems

M.P. Tech. Air Blast Rooms can be equipped with Full Reclaim Floors or "H" , "U" , or "T" shaped Partial Reclaim floors. Return air eliminates the need to exhaust warm plant air to the atmosphere.

Optional Equipment

• Work Car: Standard room design allows for a non-powered work car which is 5' x 5'sq. Larger or heavier capacity units are available as are powered units with rotary tables.
• Monorail: As an option, a monorail Beam can be attached to the underside of the reinforced roof of the blast room, extending out the front by 8 Ft.'. 1 Ton, 2 Ton and 5 Ton Capacity Monorails are available with powered or manual trollies.
• Roof Slot: Both powered and non-powered roof slots are available to allow overhead crane access into the blast room.
• Outside Operator: Mounted on a wall panel is a 24" x 30" safety glass window with arm length gloves attached to the wall and a hinged work table inside the room.
• Air Re-circulation: Up to 85% of the filtered exhaust air from the dust collector can be returned to the room through a baffled return plenum at the front of the room.
• Track Extension: The work car tracks and structural steel supports can be extended out of the blast room to permit loading or unloading by over-head crane.
• Partial Recovery System: Variations on the full recovery system are available for special applications, ("U", "H", "T", "L").
• Heavy Duty Floor: An optional heavy-duty floor grating will permit the operation of fork-lift trucks in the blast room.
